Houston's East End, also known as Segundo Barrio or the Second Ward, is one of the city's most culturally significant Hispanic communities. The neighborhood stretches east of Downtown along Navigation Boulevard and Harrisburg Boulevard, home to generations of Houston families, thriving taquerias, local shops, and a growing arts scene.

Housing in the East End includes affordable single-family homes for rent, small apartment complexes, and newer townhome developments. Rents remain among the more accessible in the inner loop — one-bedrooms from $800 to $1,600/mo, two-bedrooms from $1,200 to $2,200/mo, and three-bedroom homes from $1,500 to $2,500/mo. Downtown Houston is less than 10 minutes by car, and the East End METRORail stop (Green/Purple Line) connects the neighborhood to the broader transit network.
